5 UX Principles for Getting More Leads from Your Landing Pages

Landing pages have become a go-to tool for getting more conversions. They are simple, focused and to the point. What has evolved over the period is the ‘user experience’ on the landing page. A landing page with nice graphics and content is incomplete with the right set of defined user experience. Even more important is the way user experience happens with mobile users.

Let us look into couple of key principles which each Unbounce designer should look into before clicking the ‘Go Live’ button for the campaign.

  • Visible CTA’s
It is quintessential that CTA’s are clearly highlighted and well placed. Each CTA needs to be thought through. CTA’s with hover color effects will improvise user experience for sure.

  • User Friendly Forms
Form fields should allow contrasting content. Lot of times we observe forms with background images which make reading the text over them difficult. Hence each form should be tested for user experience (including mobile devices).

  • Play Around with the Copy
Similar to the way we highlight CTA’s each Unbounce designer should focus on improving the user experience through content styling. Key content can be highlighted for better readability thus, better conversion.

  • Keep it simple and distraction free
Above everything else, your landing page needs to be focused and simple to understand. Most of the times we find landing pages with running videos which most of the time moves the focus away from conversion. Landing pages should have only relevant content alongside CTA elements.  Hence it is preferred to make them straight forward and with less props.

  • Match between your AD and Landing page
The message which was conveyed in the ad to pull the visitor to your landing page should stand true with the content/ solution you are bringing in the landing page.  If it varies, you will observe this through high bounce rate.

Over the period Unbounce designers have realized the importance of relevant user experience to play a vital role in conversion. When you further apply this with A/B testing tool which Unbounce provides, the same becomes even more prominent.
